The last mile of the westbound drive runs through young lodgepole toward the four-way at Apgar. From the visitor center, a paved path leads to Apgar Village and the foot of Lake McDonald, a good place to finish the day beside the water.
Stay straight past Apgar Loop Road on your right, and the four-way stop is a little under a mile beyond it. That's the road behind you now, and the Continental Divide with it. Thank you for riding it with us, from Boone and from me. If you've got any daylight left, there's a paved path from the visitor center to Apgar Village and the lake. I can't think of a better place to sit down. We'd love some feedback on this tour, so if you enjoyed it, please leave a review.
