The story
How Henry Flagler's railroad and his grand hotels turned sleepy 1880s St. Augustine into the 'Newport of the South' — the Gilded Age boom that built the city you're walking through.
So that's Flagler's city. Now, just before you reach the plaza, turn south onto Aviles Street — that's ah-VEE-less — the slim brick lane heading south. It's often called the oldest street in America, and it's our path now.
