For travelers finishing westbound, the drive ends at the Joshua Tree Visitor Center in downtown Joshua Tree, just short of the Highway 62 light. The gravel lot sits south of the building, with gas and food close by, the first since entering the park.
In about a mile on your left, just before the Highway sixty-two light, is the Joshua Tree Visitor Center. Its gravel lot comes first, so ease left and pull in. Gas and food are right around that lot. You started at a grove of palms standing on a fault, and since then you've met a moth the size of a rice grain, a mountain built backwards, and an old man who carved his own verdict into a stone. Those curved arms at the park sign are behind you now, still held open. Thank you for riding along with Boone and me. We'd love some feedback on this tour, so if you enjoyed it, please leave a review.
