And here, at last, the Wildlife Drive comes to its true end and turns you back toward the world. You've driven the whole of it now — out through the mangroves and the mudflats to the wildest corner of Sanibel — one of the finest little wildlife drives anywhere in America.
On behalf of Ranger Boone Merrick and myself, thank you for riding the whole refuge with us, all the way to the end. If you enjoyed it, we'd be grateful if you'd leave us a review — it helps other folks find their way out to Ding Darling. Come back at a different tide or a different season and you'll find a whole different refuge; the birds are always changing. Drive gentle past the last of the mangroves on your way out, and carry a little of this wild, patient, beautiful place home with you. This has been Ranger Quinn — safe travels.
