The story
And here's the far southwestern corner of the lake — the halfway mark, and the best long view of the walk. Look back across the water: the marina and the town sit tucked against the far shore with Reversed Peak rising behind them, and above your other shoulder Carson Peak fills the southwestern sky. The whole basin, one slow turn of your head.
Take a minute here. Skip a stone. If it's morning, the mirror might still be holding.
From here the path swings north up the west shore — the quiet side, and the prettiest walking of the loop. Water stays on your right.
