The path threads the edge of the Gull Lake campground along here — you're walking a stretch of quiet campground lane for a few minutes, so share it politely; the campers expect walkers, and half of them will say good morning.
This little campground is one of the oldest continuously loved spots on the whole loop — the same families have been booking the same lakeside sites for generations, and in July you'll smell every one of their breakfasts. Somewhere along this shore there's also a rope swing the local kids consider a sacred site; you'll know it when you hear it.
Where the lane bends at the lake's southern corner, the pavement gives way and the real shore trail begins — water on your right, straight ahead.
