The close of the drive along the ridge — and a farewell from your rangers.
As the road carries you on along the ridge, that's the top of New Jersey — the monument, the highest lake, the three-state view, and the ancient bog. Not a bad haul for one short drive up a mountain. Whenever you're ready, you can turn back down the scenic road toward the gate — and take it slow on the descent, in a low gear, easy on the brakes.
