The first waterfall on the hike — Hardy Falls, a tall horsetail of Hardy Creek sliding down the mossy rock, seen from a viewpoint just before Rodney Falls.
Hear how the forest is getting louder? That growing roar up ahead is the water we came all this way for — and the first of it is Hardy Falls. Watch through the trees, off to your right, for a tall, feathery ribbon of white: that's Hardy Creek pouring over a high ledge in a long horsetail drop, sliding down the mossy rock in a fine, misting veil. There's a viewpoint along here that gives you a good look at it.
Hardy Falls is the opening act. Just ahead, the trail brings you to the main event — Rodney Falls, and the strange breathing cave they call the Pool of the Winds. You're close now. Keep going; the best is right around the bend.
